Community Project of the Year Award 2018

SPR AUTISM DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The club today got notified that they have won the award thanks to being nominated by Harry Twohig who is someone who helps out with the centre aswell as many other aspects at SPR. The head of the Autism Development Centre Sam Bell got the email and instantly had to phone Donna Crowthers to ensure that the email was legit. This is a massive achievement for ALL who are part of the centre. We began with an idea and now it is growing. We have 12-15 players currently in the centre with a couple of them now ready to move into main stream teams.

When Sam phoned Donna she said that we beat a lot of other projects and that they love what we are doing. A massive thank you to the North Riding FA for picking us and also thanks to Harry for nominating us.

We do this centre because we enjoy it and we want to give these young people a chance to play the beautiful game.
